Job 16:3
"Shall vain words have an end? or what emboldeneth thee that thou answerest?"

NOO MORE LIKE!

Jeremiah 23:16
"Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD."

STOP USING THAT WORD!

Samuel 12:21
"And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain."

Like like like like like like like like like. Your over use of the word has made it vain. One can say like all they want. but at the end of the sentence, is it needed? LIKE do we need to say it? Read that sentence, remove to the like word, and is there a difference? NO! Because the like in this case is used as filler. IT MEANS NOTHING!

Psalms 73:13
"Verily I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency."

Do we also need it to always to describe how we feel about something. Let's use a the thesaurus:
enjoy, love, appreciate, value, treasure.
These also have stronger meanings. like is so general, that just saying it is inconsiderate. While I'm on the issue, let us see what else like can be replaced with:

similar, equal, same, comparable, corresponding, (kind, sort)[One can argue these are duplicates of the matter], variety, wish, care, want.

Of course the rise of social media has increased this usage. Devaluing the meaning further. I despise that word.

Proverbs 12:11
"He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding."
