Jeremiah 2:2
"Go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the L ORD; I
remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine
espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land
that was not sown."
Jeremiah also known as the weeping prophet has the two saddest books, Jeremiah and Lamentations. While Job suffered a lot of physical pain, and his friends denounced him. He did recover and recieved greater. Jeremiah did not get that pleasure. Jeremiah was rejected on the highest social level imaginable possible setting the bar. He had to speak God's word to those that were hard hearted, and false prophets. To make matters worse the word he was speaking meant doom. Imagine the pain of being rejected, and hated every day. He lamented (Hence Lamentations) for Israel. While they kept going their own way of destruction.
