Top 10 Kirby characters:
I had a youtube channel and one of my favorite things was countdowns. However they grew some what challenging to make. Here is my draft of it. Keep in mind this was originally going to be a video.
The Kirby series is my 2nd favorite video game franchise of all time. It's got peaceful yet action pack gameplay. It's music is incredible and catchy. It has some of the greatest and worst bosses in the history of video games, and it's power ups are too much fun for it's own good.
But you know what else I love about the series. Oh good grief you didn't to spoil the childern THEY DON'T KNOW HOW READ. Also how am I going to make a over elabrite sensepenseful opening now? You ruined it you vapid kill joy. Oh well might as well try anyway.
The Characters of the kirby universe are some of the most awesome and Interesting in video games. Yet not a lot of people pay attention because they're too busy having fun, and you know what it's about time I gave the spot light on these individuals. So let's countdown the 10 Best kirby characters.

I'm not going to include characters from the anime. (Not there would be contenders from that.)

10. Daroach
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH YEAH BABY
You know I'm starting this countdown strong when the main antagonist of Squeak Squad barely makes it on here.
The Dorotche Gang leader also known as Doroach is one of those lovable villians who doesn't show up that often, but when he does you are so happy to see him. The first time you meet Doroach is in Castle Dedede, after finding out that King Dedede didn't steal your cake, and you find that his chest is missing. Naturally not one to miss out on looking professional. Doroach appered and Told kirby that he and his game was the one reasponsable for the dissapperance of the Chest AND the CAKE! Truly an engenious theif, ladies and gentlemen.
From then on it's a bitter sweet rivalry. You knock out his squecks, he builds up his arsonal, until the end where you have to fight him as the final boss. Where a sort of misfortune happens, and Doroach turns extremely evil. Here you have to advoid his bombs, lasers, and whatever else he has in store for you. It's nothing special, but it does offer a challenge. Well worth it honestly.
Weither it's in the form of stealing Cake, or just showing up to look awesome. Doroach and his squeaks are here to stay.
9. O2
You know about characters being mocked for being kiddie, but have you ever heard of a character that has been mocked for being mature? Well O2 happens to fill that slot quite nicely.

Seriously how many times is this guy going to go under your rader? Is there like an idiot in the room that says oh it's from Nintendo GIVE IT AN E+, Actually that would make sense (OoT)
Anyways O2 is the star Villian in Dreamland 3 and 64, and one can argue that he's dark matter, Which increases his appearance to staggering levels. I don't think any enemy in the franchise has had that many apperances outside of King Dedede. Speaking of imagery, look at it. It's a bleeding eyeball simple yet it gives off the impresion of DO NOT MESS WITH ME! It's Nightmare Fuel without acutally being Nightmare.
Now O2's personallity is a double edge sword. I mean in the way that he really doesn't have a persona. He's just there to do wrong, and be the evil bad guy, but at the same time that's what makes O2 so terrifying. You never know what thoughts lay behind that eye. All you know is that they are beyond evil. He's always there to give you this feeling of terrior and despair. yet he doesn't take pleasure from it. he just does it because he needs to.
That one word makes it all the more interesting. Why does O2 need to be evil? Does he seek revenge for something dreamland has done wrong? Does he serve a higher being? Honestly I don't think we can answer that until we can answer another question. Why does Kirby need to be good?
8. Adeleine
Speaking of Characters in Dreamland 3 and 64
Yeah I love Adeleine. Afterall she was one of the most helpfulest characters in the Kirby universe. That and her adorable temper tanturams. OH YOU MEAN KIRBY I HATE YOU, I JUST WANT TO SLAUGHTER YOU WITH MY PAINTINGS, IS THAT SO WRONG?
When you first meet Adeleine she is inhabitate by Dark Matter, and cause chaos everywhere she went, but thanks to Kirby, and a firm whooping, she came back to her senses. Ever sense she been willing to go to places that may get herself killed. Just to paint kirby a tomato, Hmm didn't think artificial food was worth dieing for.
She's definitely a spunky little thing, but don't let that go to your head. She's still willing to part take in picnics with kirby and CO, and the ocasional minigame. Though my favorite thing about adeleine is her theme song. I never though kirby music could get anymore coated with sugary notes, but her theme just takes the cake.

Quite fitting for the character isn't it.
7. Yin Yarn
Good Grief I'm talking about Epic Yarn and it's villian. Yin Yarn despite coming from a creative game isn't actually that creative. Infact he's just a cliché children's cartoon villian, But that's where he shines in. He doesn't reject the idea that he's a cliché he embraces it. That's why I love him, you know he's just an evil baddy but his charm just knits you in.
Unlike most of the other villians in the kirby franchise you meet Yin yarn in the first cutscene. Where it's kind of obvious that he's a drama king. From then on it's plotting, anarchy, and socking it to the metanight. Until you met him in his final form and It's anti-climatic ending. I apprate the whole beating the villian to a thread, but it's kind of boring.
Saddly Yin Yarn hasn't shown up since. After all Epic Yarn wasn't receive postive at launch. I really would have like it if he showed up in future installment. After all that Nyehehehe just cracks me up, but i'm not a game dev so what am I going to do? Complain on youtube and get 2 likes, Yeah that's going to solve EVERYTHING.
Oh well at least he's apperance in Epic Yarn is memeroble.
6. Prince Fluff
Wow back so soon?
I couldn't forget kirby's poofy aquantence. Prince Fluff began as a bit of a pompous Jerk, but as you progress through the game he becomes more toralable. Even to the point where one could say he's sort of a friend. He even gives you a smelly sock as a parting gift. Ohuh, how nice.
Following the trend in epic yarn, Prince Fluff is beyond adorable. The way he walks, how he's portrade in cutscenes. He's even kind of cute when playing with another person. If you call cute, picking you up when your about to do something important cute.
I also want to point out something. I don't usasal like to talk video theories mostly bacause they're stupid and everyone takes seriously, But I can help but notice that prince fluff might be the son of Yin Yarn. You always see Prince Fluff and his subjects, but you never see the King or Queen. Won't a matter that deals with patch the entire world together be vitally important for a King? So why is Prince Fluff the one to fix it? Not only that, but Yin Yarn stitches entire beings together, so he could have made Prince Fluff. Could it be that Prince Fluff did something wrong and as a punishment Yin Yarn teared patchland apart? Or maybe it's because Prince Fluff's parents don't live on Patchland, and I'm just over doing this. Considering that this game has you go from being a musical note to a dolphin with no hassle or plot devolopement, I would have to say the ladder. Oh well at least I got a theory out there.
Cute, Fluffy, and an interesting potentate. Prince Fluffy was the best player 2 a player 1 could ask for.
5. Magolor
It didn't take long for people to love Magolor. I mean good grief in 2012 people were already hoping he would appere in more games. But what made this little space alien have such a huge fanbase. Well in order for me to explain that I'm going to have to spoil the plot to Return to dreamland so brace yourselfs.
Magolor first started out as a distresed indiviual. Having his ship destroyed, and landia taking over his home world. Kirby agrees to help him, and thus the collectothon begins. Colloect all the ship parts and make your way through Halcandra, and you'll make to the final boss Landia. Bing bang boom good game 7.8 out of 10, but this is where returns pulls out a 180.
Though you did help magolor that doesn't mean you helped the good guy. You see Magolor's main goal was to rule the universe by obtaining landia's crown. However he failed to do so, and lost a good amount of his ship in the process. Oh but thanks to you he manage to recover and achieve his plans. To which he thanks you by taking out kirby's planet out first. Yeah not a nice fellow.
After playing an awesome shoot them up section, and destroying the Lor starrcutter. You face Magolor and let me say, best Kirby boss fight ever! He has to phases both being fantasic, and having fantasic music. My favorite part is undoubtly when 1st phase ends. Kirby does the most awesomest finnishing move I have ever seen. It's so awesome that it even made it into smash bros.
But after you beat Magolor he doesn't remain a villain. Infact he apologies for the wrong he has done. That's why this character he so beloved, because he admitted his faults. Now i've heard theories suggesting that Magolor was under the effects of the crown, but if that were so then why did he seek it in the first place? And even if there was an evil curse on it, then why doesn't it effect Landia? Face it Magolor did maniplate and fight you. There was no evil enity forcing Magolor to wrong Just himself. Which makes his confession even better.
Magolor has made one other appearance outside of returns, and his theme crown has been in even more titles, but for the most part Magolor is remeared as the lovable antagonist in Return to dreamland.
4. King Dedede
Dreamland I present to you your KING!
Now we are getting into the main characters. Characters that have had an impact in a lot of games, and bring smiles to our faces when we see them. Yet the main antagonist of the series is barely holding on, Why is that? Well putting simply Dedede is just not as good as the next characters. Which is really hard for me to say since he is an awesome character.
So how did this Hammer wielding Penguin get his start? Well like everything in Kirby universe he started out by stealing food. Oooooooooooof course. No wonder why Kirby acussed Dedede of cake theivery in squeak squad. He's been doing it ever since the beginning. What a Jerk.
However that doesn't mean he neglects his duty as a tyrannical king. Infact on several occastions he's tried to save it. Spoiler alert In Kirby's Adventure he tries to stop kirby from unleashing Nightmare. I mean look at the guy he has had the stuffings beaten out of him, but he's still holding on. NEWS FLASH IT DOES NOT WORK! The dream emperor has even over came his hatred for kirby in hopes of defeating a greater evil. Dude no wonder why dreamland still serves his ironfist. Cause if you had the choice of going hungry, and dieing for evil purposes, or going hungry for the deffense of your planet. I'd deffinately choose the one that would help Popstar.
That's another thing you have to admire about this guy. HE RULES AN ENTIRE PLANET! Most Nintendo Villians only get that as a Dream. EHEHEHE. But no matter what happens to Dedede he still remains ruler of Popstar. Though his army may need to be better equiped.
I swear the army of dreamland has some of the most saddest supply lines. I mean there are soilders equiped with brooms, Umbrellas, to not even being equiped at all. HIS AIRFORCE LITTERALLY STARTS AND ENDS WITH BURNO BURT! What do you expect to acomplish with an army like this Dedede. Stealing candy from babies? Oh wait.
Dedede's comic relief admuses me to no end. Just look at these facal expressions. Bandana why is the world spinning? OW! The guy is a never ending chain of ludicrous events, and I love him for it.
But don't let his hysterical behavoir go to your cause the guy isn't a king for nothing. Introducing the king's dream weapon the Hammer. The guy has a fasination for swinging the thing like crazy. He even installed Rocket Jets to it just so he send his enemies a FLYING! For a long time this was the Monarch's only weapon, but thanks to Triple Deluxe Spoiler alert again. The Guy has no problem wielding an axe as well, and good grief he's good at it. The super tuff pink puff even has trouble against him. So if you happen to be on enemies to be killed list. Well I ain't going to help you.
And finally his theme. Goodness King Dedede's theme is the best video game character theme ever made. infact if I were to make a list of the top 10 character themes. Wait you know let's do that. No i'm not joking let's begin at number 10

And why is that? Because It matches his character to the bone and marrow. It's fast paced showing that he is a threat. yet it's so goofy and upbeat proving that he can be comical. It has been the most remix theme in the history of video game character themes. I have listen to this theme more than any other kirby track. Plus it's so catchy and dance worthy. I LOVE IT SO MUCH!
Tryannical, Comical, and awesome. King Dedede deserves Number 4.
3. Bandana Dee
Daaaaw it's Bandana Dee. Not to be confused with the regular waddle dees. Bandana dee is King Dedede's left hand man. Guarding the king at all costs, Bandana dee is a force to be recon with. Eh well now he is. Back in the SNES days he was a joke of a boss. Basically he was just a normal Waddle Dee but with a lot of health. This fight has got to be the series worst, and keep in mind that this is the same series that has Wispy Wimpy Woods.
Good thing Return to Dreamland buffed him by giving him a mighty spear. Despite his hands being nothing but nubs. He is a master at the thing. Just try naming me one character that is able to stab at the speed of sound, Fling 3 spears from one spear for infinity, and use the weapon has heli-blade. All while looking absoulutely cute.
Bandana's personality is an absoulute win for me. He just has this charm of persitant helpfulness. He's helped metanight, Kirby two times in a row (3 deluxe, Rainbow Curse), and has been a sturdy consoultant of the King. Not once has he back down from disobeying a order. Even if it means getting completely owned. However he isn't complete blank soilder, the guy does have comidic remarks. The line Sir he ran out of time Still cracks me up.
Brave, Loyal, and funn. Bandana Dee is the best body guard a king could ask for.
2. MetaKnight
This Knight is so good at his job that Meta is litteraly in his name.
There is no way I could leave off this hardcore Knight. Metaknight first started in Kirby's Adventure as a rival. Unlike all the other bosses in the game, metaknight would give you a sword to fight him. Making the Duel as fair as possible. If you manage to beat him he would dissapper with his cape, but not before his mask broke and revealed that he is another Kirby kind of character. This happens in every game he's in. Yet people still don't know everything about Metaknight.
This is obviously Metaknight's most enduring trait. He's myserious. We know that he is against Darkness and he works for King Dedede. Yet we don't know if that's his main goal. We know that he looks like kirby. Nevertheless he still wears that mask. Interesting isn't it, the Mystery of Metaknight isn't hard to break not because of things we don't know, but because of things we do know.
Even his sword Galaxia is myrsterious. This thing doesn't look like it came from King Dedede or from Dreamland for that matter. We don't even know how metaknight got the thing. But one thing is for certain, It looks awesome. That Golden gloss, the ruby on the guard, and of course the fact that it can be lit on fire. No wonder why it's called the master sword abiliaty. *Link Gasps*
Of course a sword is as only good as it's master, and GOOD PREIOUS MERCY. Metaknight is the most powerful character in the kirby universe. Infact he is the best character in the Nintendo Universe period. Just ask any professional Smash Metaknight player to fight you, and enjoy the permintate scars on your face as you see your character get demolished. I mean the guy made Galacta knight look like a chump. You know the boss with this THEME! *Plays Galacta Knight Theme for a bit* Do you honestly think he knows the term DEFEAT! I'm beginning to wonder if just let's kirby win, but if that's so. Then why?
Mysterious, and beyond Poweful. Metaknight is the one to get the job done with no hassle.
1. Kirby
Most Games have the main protagonist as a blank slate. They don't typical become people's most favorite character. I have never found myself dissagree more with this thought Process, than I have with my Adoration for Kirby. Just one smile from this lovable Marshmellow can brighten up my day.
But before I go overdrive fanboy. Let me talk about the guy's history. Kirby's humble beginings began on the Gameboy. Devoloped by HAL labs whose previous star franchise, Ahahaha...was the adventures of lolo. The game's main concept from the beginning was the be the best platformer for newcomers, or people who were just not good at video games. The Devolopers needed a place holder character. This was just a circle with 2 eyes. As time past 19 year old Mashahero Sakurai grew found of this straitforward design, and you know the rest.
Although Kirby was able to inhale enemies his prime ability to copy them would not be included. Instead it would go to it's NES squeal Kirby's Adventure. Which set the tone for the whole series. Several worlds, and Mutiple levels for each world. The game even made the Twisted final boss a staple of the series. Oh what little did Nintendo know what final bosses they would be making down the line.
In Dreamland 2 another few things were added. Such as kirby being able to wear hats in order for people to distengiuse what ability they are using, and Animal buddies which helped form the base of movesets for each ability.
And that's how Kirby got where he is today. Kirby has now become one of the main stars of Nintendo. Right up there with Mario, Pokemon, and The Green tunic wearing Zelda. THAT's Totally Zelda right? The series has 23 titles with combine sales of over 34 million units. He has had his own spin offs. He's an N64 Super Smash bros Veteren, and he's one of the most reconisable video characters of all time.
Okay those are the facts, now let me tell you why I love this cream puff. Kirby's personality is cute. He's naïve, and simple minded. Yet he doesn't back down when evil is at it's worse. He's Kind and soft spooken, but has no problem analating everything in his path. The best examples I can give you is in 64 crystal shards, Squeak Squad, and Returns.
First we have Kirby 64 the Crystal shards. In 64 a Dark matter is wrecking this young fairy's home world, and she needs to gather all the shards in order for her to repel the beast, and Kirby without hestitation offers his help, and when you reach the end. He's still willing to help fight. He will not stand down and let O2 destroy the fairy homeworld. He's willing to help his friend to the end. No matter how close they were.
Second is Squeak Squad. It comminces with kirby about to eat cake. Which is cut short when it is stolen. Kirby chases down the crooks for the entire game, but not once does he think about what else is going on. He blames King Dedede, the Squeaks, and even Metaknight, but does he care? No. He just wants his cake. If that isn't a one track mind then I don't know what is.
And lastly but most importantly is Return to Dreamland. It's pretty much the same thing kirby went through in 64, but this time the villian is Landia, and the victem is Magolor. However unlike 64 Kirby's undieing will to help backfires, and Magolor turns out to be the bad guy. So what does Kirby do? He admits he has wronged Landia, and immediantly seeks Magolors end, but even after all backstabing and battling, Kirby is still willing to accept Magolor's apologey. That's incredible ladies and gentlemen.
But you know what makes kirby more awesome. His POWER! I've already said that Metaknight is the strongest character in the Kirby universe, but that doesn't mean Kirby is too far behind, and you need not to look any farther than his most common attribute. The inhale. This thing has no limit. No matter how big you think you are Kirby can find a way to embrace you with his void of a stomache. Grunts, Bosses, and Spicey Curry will all go in that little pink softball's mouth. It gets even better when you get the hypernova, Which allows you to gobble Trees, Eels, and Forsaken LASERS! But it doesn't end there my friends.
If Kirby swollows a foe instead of spitting them out. Then you can obtain a copy ability. These Copy abilities are the most fun you can have the Kirby series. Messing around with Smash , Yoyo, and Ninja can not be any more entertaining. Stone is so broken you can stay in rock form for hours and not once take a hit making it useful for . Playing fighter or hammer in Fighters and watching your friends struggle to obtain victory. Or you could just have sleep and enjoy a cute little animation. I haven't gotten to the massacre driven Super Abilities from return.
These are unstoppable forces of pure elimination and Beauty. From Monster Flame's obsurdly fun anniltive force. To Ultra Swords raw satifation of boss killing. These abilities make Kirby no long a face of mercy. Insteed he's the ultramate death machine.
Speaking of which. LOOK AT WHAT KIRBY HAS GONE UP AGAIST! Nightmare of Nightmares, a necromacer named Necrodeus , a bee whiched plant secoria (Eheheheh), the demon eye O2, and even the machine that can make your wishes come true, Unova. Kirby is not hesitate of challanging, fighting, and obliterating danger that is bigger than him. And then dances on their corpse.
Kirby is everything I love about the Kirby series and more. That's why he's my favorite Kirby Character of all time.
